Infrasound in the Alpes-Maritimes: like a distant diesel engine I can feel in my body

Hello, my name is Virginie. I live in the south of France, in the Alpes-Maritimes (06), in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region.

Since 2021, I have been hearing what I believe to be infrasound: it sounds like a distant diesel engine, with a vibration that I can actually feel throughout my body. Other people around me do not hear it. It prevents me from sleeping and leaves me feeling extremely stressed and unwell.

I created a Facebook page called “Infrasounds PACA” (PACA stands for Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur), but unfortunately there has not been much interaction with other people experiencing the same thing.

Today, I also received a call from a woman who lives south of Paris and who has been experiencing the same phenomenon since 2019. We have both carried out a great deal of research over the years. We have, of course, both checked whether it could be tinnitus with an ear specialist. We have also spoken to our neighbors to find out whether they had air-conditioning systems, equipment, or anything else that could potentially cause vibrations.

I even contacted my local town hall to try to understand whether any new infrastructure had been installed that could potentially be producing this type of wave or vibration.

After all the research we have done over the years, we suspect that 5G antennas could possibly be interacting with other equipment, such as smart meters or compressors. However, this is only a hypothesis at this stage, and we have no definitive evidence.

We cannot file a complaint against anyone because we simply do not know the exact source.

There are several websites documenting what is often referred to as the “mysterious Hum.” What we experience sounds like a vibrating engine, but it is not constant or linear — it is intermittent and pulsating, and it makes it extremely difficult to feel well or sleep properly.

We also experience what feels like electricity or electrical sensations throughout the body, and it sometimes feels as though it is affecting the nervous system.

I don't know any more than this at the moment, but I wanted to share my experience in case other people are experiencing something similar.
